CLT Orientation

You must attend CLT Orientation in order to purchase a CLT home.  Classes are held via Zoom. If you attended an orientation in 2022- 2024, you don’t need to again.

  • Attending does not guarantee that you will be invited to apply. .

  • Class is scheduled for 1 hour but often finishes in about 45 minutes, depending on questions.

    • CLT Orientation will be scheduled in last August or early September if need be.

Homebuyers Education

The free HUD Certified Homebuyers Education classes are 7 hours long and cover the aspects of what it takes to buy a home.  The course includes presentations from industry professionals.  We will also discuss credit, budgeting, and how to figure out if you're ready to buy a home.  A one-hour counseling session with us (also at no cost to you) is required to get your certificate of completion.  This counseling session looks into your individual situations and discusses your particular needs and finances.  Your certification is good for 3 years and is good nation wide.

You have to either pick the month on the left or click "Jump to the next available date."  Pick a time slot; the times aren't relevant; they are just used as a placeholder for the number of participants that can sign up.

Because of some external budget cuts and some internal restructuring, our homebuyer education programming is undergoing temporary changes. Beginning in October, we will offer the education part of Homebuyer Ed through the online platforms listed below; we will continue to provide the HUD-required individual financial counseling pieces in-house. If you are interested in this counseling, don't hesitate to contact homeownership @ thehrdc.org to schedule these sessions after the coursework is finished.

We reserve the right to cancel any class for any reason including insufficient registration.

If an online, self-paced class better suits your current situation better, NeighborWorks Montana can help. In order to receive your homebuyer education class certificate of completion, you will need to complete a 1 -on- 1 appointment with one of our HUD-certified housing counselors. This appointment can be in person, over the phone, or virtually and can generally be made to fit your schedule.

If you would like to take Homebuyers Education in Spanish, both of the NeighborWorks online options, eHome American and Framework, have a Spanish option.

We can provide a translator for any 1 -on- 1 appointment through Montana Language Services (MTLS).

Please reach out if you are in need of any other accommodations.
